Saturn in Aries

February: Saturn Reenters Aries, Pisces Season Begin

February opens with a Full Moon in Leo, 13°03’, on the 1st, 2:09 pm Pacific time. We are in the heart of “Aquarius season” and the Moon opposes Sun, Mars and Venus (loosely Mercury and Pluto) all in Aquarius, the Sun conjunct the asteroid Vesta at 11°02’ Aquarius. This is a good lunar time to find the creative passion that burns inside of you, one that is Aquarian in vibe. Carry a torch of some humanitarian cause or an exciting innovation you wish to manifest. Where do you need radical new ideas to put yourself into action? You deserve to be seen and given applause for your creative gifts! A Leo Full Moon says “roar”! Take center stage.

On January 10th, we lost Bob Weir, a great musician and songwriter, founding member of the Grateful Dead. In honor of Bobby, I’ll quote lyrics from Cassidy, a song he wrote with John Barlow. February’s sky reverberates a call for us to see “what you are, what you’re meant to be.” February 3rd, Uranus, 27°27’ Taurus, moves direct after being retrograde since early September. The planet of radical enlightenment and sudden change squares Mercury in Aquarius and sextiles Saturn in Pisces and Neptune in Aries. Flashes of insight are possible, “aha” moments, that bring truth into what needs to finally change to release the mystic warrior inside of us. For some, our true path may be about our creative or spiritual side, for others it may entail coming to defense of what we love and value.

On February 13th, Saturn reenters Aries at 4:11 pm, meeting up with Neptune by conjunction on February 20th at 00°45’. The two planets were very close to being conjunct last summer, but now is an exact hit. Last year, I wrote about how this coming together of the two could bring about military delusions of might and we might expect such escalating tensions this month as well. The high road for us all is to discover how we can be compassionate warriors and fight the hate and aggressive energy. Stop the bullies in our world! February 17th we experience an annular solar eclipse at 28°49’ Aquarius at 4:01 am. This New Moon eclipse squares Uranus in Taurus. We have the right to protect our freedom, a right to stand up for justice! “Let the words be yours, I am done with mine.” Time for us to make change happen!

Sun enters Pisces, February 18th, at 7:51 am, joining Mercury and Venus already in the sign of the fishes. Welcome to Pisces season! Let’s hope the Piscean mood lightens the fiery energy of Saturn and Neptune in Aries, opening our hearts to greater compassion and understanding between people and nations. February 14th may be Valentine’s Day (I wish a happy holiday to both single and committed folks!), but love is in full vibration on February 22nd as Venus in Pisces, 15°31’, trines Jupiter retrograde in Cancer. What a lovely day to express love and tenderness to those we hold dear. If you are looking for a day to escape, this is it!

Mercury goes retrograde at 22°33’ Pisces February 25th, 10:48 pm, lasting until March 20th, when the planet moves direct. Late February is about reimagining the bigger picture of compassion in your life or how you are using your creative imagination. Look to see where mid-degrees of Pisces fall in your chart. Here you need to open to your inner muse and intuition to help release your mystical side. Avoid signing anything concrete and watch for misunderstandings during this period. What someone says may reveal a completely different message! Look for omens.

The month ends with a challenging square between Mars, 27°42’ Aquarius, and Uranus in Taurus, February 27th. The same day, Sun conjuncts north node of the Moon in Pisces, Venus and Mercury form a conjunction also in Pisces. Once again, time to stand up for what we believe in. There may be sudden explosions. Best to feel through any upsets and be understanding of others. Be careful about wanting to escape the collective tension. Don’t simply turn the other cheek. Rather visualize peace! But always remember, “Let your life proceed by its own design!”

2026 New Year Blessings! What's in Store for the Months Ahead

Every January, I think of the words of a Grateful Dead song, “The wheel is turning and you can’t slow down…” Where do we see a fresh start for our wheel moving forward? Where do we see planetary shifts and changes? For this month’s cosmic weather report, let’s briefly look at the next few weeks and then spend most of our time taking into account 2026 and the months ahead of us.

January begins with a Full Moon in Cancer, out of bounds (at extreme declination), 13°01’, January 3rd, 2:02 am Pacific time. Sun is conjunct Venus 12°14’ and Mars 14°32’ Capricorn, both planets also out of bounds. Passions may fly when it comes to nurturing those most close to us. We may feel the need to protect family or take action and responsibility in expressing our love. Watch out for a need for too much control. Love takes dedication and persistence, but compassion and kindness balance well with duty and obligation. On January 18th, the New Moon at 28°43’ Capricorn, 11:51 am, conjuncts Mercury, Venus and Mars, so we continue to build upon Capricorn themes of “climbing a mountain” by devoting hard work and patience to achieving our goals.

Slow-moving Neptune reenters Aries January 26th and Saturn also reenters Aries February 13th. The two form a conjunction 00°45’ February 20th. Last summer and fall, they were very close, but not exactly together. Somewhere in our lives we are asked to be spiritual warriors, but there may be some challenges to being able to lead or take initiative. How to assert ourselves in the right way may seem hard to pinpoint. Just “a little bit further than you’ve gone before.” Meanwhile, it benefits us to be selfish in terms of our own spiritual or creative needs. On a global scale, expect more expressions of military might, possibly delusional or with unclear motives. The best way forward is to fight the “good” fight, not for ego’s sake, but for the greater benefit of all.

Uranus reenters Gemini April 25th at 5:51 pm. The planet of sudden revelations, upset, revolution and innovation briefly entered Gemini last July through early November before returning retrograde to Taurus. Now Uranus will remain in Gemini for seven years until 2032-33. The planet’s shift into Gemini, characterized by curiosity, exchange of information and learning, leads into radical new inventions and solutions to world problems. Expect some exciting new writing. Uranus is in range of a sextile to Saturn, Neptune (exact July 15th) and a trine to Pluto in Aquarius (exact July 17th and November 29th ). Seek fresh perspectives when imagining how to make your dreams real.

Jupiter, the “king of the gods,” tends to expand and bring new opportunities. June 29th Jupiter enters Leo and remains in the sign until late July, 2027. Ask: “How have I been underestimating myself in terms of my creative expression, play, generosity or leadership? Where do I need to roar and be seen?” Look to see where the sign of the lion falls in your chart. Roll the dice on you and allow yourself to receive applause!

Jupiter in Leo

By July 20th, Jupiter in Leo trines Neptune 04°22’ Aries and opposes Pluto in Aquarius, 04°26’, then sextiles Uranus 04°37’ Gemini on the 21st.  Some may speak out if they feel they are NOT being fully appreciated and may act willfully to get their way. A good moment to reflect upon our own wounds that make us feel not seen nor loved. On August 31st, Jupiter in Leo trines Saturn, retrograde, in Aries, 13°41’. True leaders and artists know when to act and when to be mature when seeking praise. The best “art” requires hard work and initiative.

In the fall, Venus turns retrograde at 08°29’ Scorpio October 3rd  (until November 13th). Pluto stops in the sky to move direct, 03°04’ Aquarius, October 15th, Venus in an exact square the 19th. Those impacted by Pluto moving in early Aquarius throughout 2025-2027, may find this Venus retrograde time useful by going to deep levels of intimacy to reveal psychological wounds. Pluto wants to free you of old patterns and move you into a more authentic place. “Bound to cover just a little more ground!”

Gemini Season Begins - May's Cosmic Weather

May opens with the Moon “out of bounds”, at extreme declination, in Cancer, May 1st and 2nd. International Workers’ Day coincides with the ancient Celtic holiday of Beltane, celebrating the height of spring. We begin with a drive for unconventional and alternative ways of healing division, in tune with a love of family and homeland. The Moon squares Venus and Neptune on May 1st, while the two planets (Venus the planet of love and connection, Neptune a higher octave of spiritual love) conjunct on May 2nd at 1°08’ Aries. Why not support taking action to defend the rights of the common citizen, of our community, of our planet? “Who can stop what must arrive now? Something new is waiting to be born!”

On May 4th, Pluto stops in the sky and stations retrograde at 3°49’ Aquarius. Pluto is a very slow-moving planet. When Pluto touches our natal chart by transit (its location in the current sky), it has time to marinate, creating depth of meaning over roughly a three-year period of time. Look to see where early degrees of Aquarius fall in your own natal chart. Here Pluto wants to bring to the surface any wounding or psychological “shadows” in your subconscious for you to heal and release. When the planet slows down, it can be particularly eventful as we face Pluto wounds. This is to help us clear the slate and rise from the ashes like a Phoenix. You are ready to work on this part of yourself!

The Full Moon occurs May 12th, 9:55 am Pacific time at 22°12’ Scorpio. The same day, Mercury in Taurus squares Pluto retrograde in Aquarius. The Moon conjuncts the asteroid, Juno, also in Scorpio. representing our partner, our ideal “consort.” What is it we value in intimacy (or in partnerships with others one-on-one), who or what supports our passions and lets us wrestle with healing our “stuff”? How do we create deep honest bonds with others? A Scorpio Moon brings intense feelings to the surface. Watch out for power plays in another. Consider how to balance the beauty of intense connection with what calms you and helps you feel at ease. “Hang your heart on laughing willow, stray down to the water, deep sea of love, beneath the sweet calm face of the sea swift undertow.”

The Moon goes out of bounds again the days following the Full Moon, May 13 through 17th, in Sagittarius and Capricorn. Be bold and adventurous! Time to feel free and open your mind to new paradigms of how we view the world. Jupiter in Gemini squares the nodes of the Moon mid-May asking us to think outside the box and look for diverse solutions to visualizing our path as compassionate people in loving service. How might we imagine sharing our ideas and making a difference for others and our world?

Sun enters Gemini, May 20th, 11:54 am. Late spring sets a mood for feeding our curiosities, investigating new avenues of knowledge, and exchanging ideas with others. A great time for stepping out and joining a collective conversation! Fun gatherings include playful banter, just for the joy of word play and language. “So swift and bright strange figures of light float in air.”

May 24th, Saturn enters Aries, 8:35 pm, coming within a range of a conjunction with Neptune. Time to make real our commitments to being spiritual warriors. Saturn will be in Aries until September 1st when the ringed planet will return to Pisces for the rest of the year. Check where early degrees of Aries falls in your natal chart. Here you must face challenges as you push ahead with Aries initiative and dreams. “Never could reach it, just slips away but I try.”

The New Moon happens on May 26th, 8:02 pm, at 6°05’ Gemini. Once again, the Moon is out of bounds. Sun and Moon make a supportive trine to Pluto in Aquarius, another air sign. What a great moment to create intentions: how might we expand our “voice”, our writing projects or teaching, or consider new classes to take? How might we utilize any inner work we have been doing under Pluto in Aquarius to liberate our minds and speak our truth?
