Jupiter in Leo

Jupiter in Leo - Let Your Sun Fully Shine for All to See! Astrology for July, 2026

Jupiter in Leo.

“Red and white, blue suede shoes”…Happy Birthday, America! The big news this month is the arrival of Jupiter into Leo, which occurred at the end of June. Jupiter will be in the sign of the lion until next July 26, 2027. For those with Sun sign Leo, this is your year! Look to see what degree of Leo your Sun is at to determine how best to use the months ahead. Where do I need to claim opportunity and expand? Whatever Jupiter touches, the planet tends to be like lighter fluid – there is a chance for growth! Look to see where Leo falls in your natal chart. Here you need to roll the dice on yourself and think BIG.

Jupiter in Leo sets the mood for more self-expression, more creativity, more courage to be “on stage,” and, well, just more FUN. Think playful romance and radiate generosity with a big, loving heart. Allow yourself to be vulnerable and share your talents. In turn, give lots of applause and appreciation for what others do and create. Doors open for us if we let our gifts be seen in the limelight. You got what it takes! Another part of Jupiter in Leo is potential for leadership. The royal sign of the lion has natural charisma that helps us step into taking charge when we need to.

July kicks off with some volatile energy. On the 3rd, Mars in Gemini, 03°52’, conjuncts Uranus, the planet of sudden change, explosion and revolution, 11:07 pm Pacific time. “Give me five, I’m still alive! Ain’t no luck…learned to duck!” Mars also squares the Moon’s nodes, suggesting a karmic time. Expect surprise outbursts. Watch your words! The high road is possible “aha” moments on how to find solutions. Mars makes soft aspects (angles) to Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius. We need a fresh vision for how to move forward. There still may be some confusion or psychological wounding that holds us back.

July 14th, a New Moon in Cancer, 21°59’, 2:43 am, conjuncts Mercury retrograde. Reassess what inside of us needs to heal and where do we benefit from self-care. Cancer can be a very patriotic sign as it is associated with family and clan. Following the 250th birthday bash of America, collectively we might reflect upon what is worth fighting for and how do we need to heal division in our country? “Wave that flag, wave it wide and high!”  July 15th, Uranus exactly sextiles (60°) Neptune in Aries 04°23’ and on the 17th, trines (120°) Pluto in Aquarius 04°29’ (we feel these slow-moving events all summer). Think outside the box when it comes to visualizing change in America and how best to handle leadership.

July 20th and 21st, Jupiter in Leo makes aspects to Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, just before the Sun enters Leo July 22nd at 12:13 pm. We may see some unexpected, brash behavior that is ego-driven now. Be patient with others and try to help them see their own wounding when it comes to being on top of their game or selfish for applause. What does it mean to be cherished and seen? Do we place too much emphasize on me, me, ME? Mercury stations direct in Cancer 16°19’, July 23rd, 3:57 pm. Be present for those you love and work towards a healing path for all involved.

Throughout the year, the planets Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius are in a sextile. This event is exact at 04°20’ on July 24th, 10:26 pm. Then the Full Moon in Aquarius, 06°30’, occurs July 29th at 7:35 am, conjunct Pluto, opposes Jupiter, trines Uranus and sextiles Neptune. This is a powerhouse time to face any psychological shadow work we have to being authentic and free, while Neptune is saying, “how do I develop the spiritual warrior in me”? Neptune can bring about a foggy lack of boundaries or delusion. “We’re all confused, what’s to lose?” Pay attention to any blockage in you that prevents your personal freedom to be who you are and this will help you visualize how to take right action. “Son of a gun, better change your act!” Enjoy summertime before it is gone, my oh my.

Summer's Here and The Time is Right: June's Astrology Weather

June begins with Mercury entering Cancer on the 1st at 4:55 am, Pacific time, followed by the Sun in Gemini making a sextile (60° angle) to Saturn, 12°24’ Aries, on the 2nd. Loving words can nurture us now. They help us be more flexible and open to stepping into where we need to take action and have courage.

By June 9th, Venus in Cancer conjuncts Jupiter, 25°46’, at 12:59 pm. What a great time for family gatherings, letting ourselves relax and simply enjoying the joys of springtime. Just watch out for going overboard in pleasure! As the song by Robert Hunter and Bob Weir goes, “Sugar magnolia, blossoms blooming. Head’s all empty and I don’t care!” Jupiter and Venus want to have some fun!

Mercury enters its “shadow” (the degrees the planet will move over while retrograde next month) on June 12th, 5:53 pm, at 16°19’ Cancer. Late degrees of Cancer where Mercury travels in late June are the very same degrees Jupiter recently crossed since April. It seems as if the universe is asking us to make sure: Now, have you found opportunities to better heal and comfort your soul? As you sit upon the lap of Big Mama Moon, she asks, are you really sure? Mercury wants you to revisit, review, and reassess how do you take care of yourself along with loving those dear to you?

On June 14th, at 7:54 pm, the New Moon occurs in Gemini, 24°03’. Meditate upon ways to cultivate your natural curiosity in life. Gemini is an air sign so this lunar time stimulates your mind. Imagine life as an open book. Where can you explore fresh directions and learn new exciting perspectives? Venus enters Leo the day before, June 13th, 3:46 am, giving the New Moon time a creative edge. Let yourself shine! “A breeze in the pines in the summer night moonlight. Crazy in the sunlight yes indeed!”

Chiron, the “wounded healer,” enters Taurus June 19th at 2:20 pm. Although small in size, the asteroid carries some punch, showing us in our natal chart where we are wounded and where we can claim the wound to become healers and teachers. Chiron changes sign every two to nine years, so this is a notable event. Collectively, we can find the healer in all of us when we face wounds we may have experienced to our physical bodies in the past.

Solstice occurs when the Sun enters Cancer on June 21st at 1:24 am. Welcome to summertime, Santa Cruz stargazers! Here’s to warm days, sunshine and moments to simply frolic and play. “Light out singing. I’ll walk you in the morning sunshine.” By June 27th, Mars in Taurus sextiles (60°) Jupiter in Cancer, 29°33’, 9:50 pm, easing us even more into a relaxed state of mind. Time to enjoy the flowers, moments at the beach or a stroll through the woods.

Mars enters Gemini June 28th, 12:29 pm, and Jupiter enters Leo June 29th, 10:52 pm. Wow! This summer, the universe puts a big exclamation point on FUN! We all deserve a break! “Sunshine Daydream!” Time to let out the whimsical bard, the dancer, and the artist in you! Ask yourself: where do I benefit from being more creative? Letting myself be on stage? Share ideas and speak words that flow like magic now.

The Full Moon happens June 29th at 4:56 pm, in Capricorn, 08°14’. The same day, Mercury stations retrograde at 26°15’ Cancer at 10:35 am. Mercury will be moving retrograde until July 23rd. And, again, Jupiter enters Leo that night. Capricorn is about climbing a mountain, striving for a great work in your life. Some part of your journey may be coming to a climax now, revealing its glory. But it takes discipline and effort. There may be some reevaluation involved so that you can have the courage to roar like the Leo lion, to lead and have true joy in self-expression. “Blooming like a red rose…Sunshine Daydream”!
